Modern-day Tagima was born in 1996 when Marutec Music, a very successful Brazilian musical equipment and electronics import company, acquired the Tagima rights and trademark. Tagima was already a highly respected brand in Brazil, with a strong following in the musical artist community. Marutec Music committed itself to building the Tagima brand with an extensive new factory, producing an expanded product line to meet the growing market demands. 

Soon after the new Tagima company started to attend and exhibit at major international trade shows such as MusikMesse Frankfurt (Germany) and the NAMM Show in Los Angeles. Tagima was now well on its way to becoming a rapidly growing international brand.

Tagima is the largest guitar brand in Brazil and a leading force in South and Latin America, with International distributors worldwide.
